Scholarships

On average, the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering awards more than $100,000 in student scholarships each academic year. Although some scholarships require demonstrated financial need, most are based on merit.

Students

All industrial engineering students are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications are available in 310 Leonhard Building or via email upon request. Completed application forms along with a current resume should be submitted to:

The following are brief descriptions of our departmental scholarships:

Julia and Brent Beabout Honors Scholarship in Industrial Engineering
For full-time undergraduate students majoring in industrial engineering who are also enrolled in the Schreyer Honors College; first preference shall be given to students who are juniors

George F. Bearer Scholarship in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
For full-time undergraduate students of junior or senior standing who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the industrial engineering program and have achieved superior academic records. Recipients must be able to demonstrate a willingness to assume some financial responsibility throughout their college years by involvement with part-time employment or cooperative education placement

Francis E. Brady Memorial Award
For seniors in industrial engineering

Richard F. Brown Scholarship in Industrial Engineering
For full-time undergraduate industrial engineering students who have demonstrated academic ability and achievement, who have proven financial need, and who are U.S. citizens

Norbert P. Gaelen Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Scholarship
For industrial engineering students of at least junior standing with superior academic records and with demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to students who are pursuing skills to successfully manage a company to long-term success and who have taken or will be taking courses identified in the Engineering Leadership Development minor.

Jerry E. Goldress Trustee Scholarship in the College of Engineering
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Engineering who have demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who are majoring in or planning to major in Industrial Engineering.

James W. Grove Industrial Engineering Scholarship
For students who have completed their sophomore year with superior academic records, demonstrated leadership, and show evidence of financial need

Inyong Ham Scholarship
For senior industrial engineering students, awarded on the basis of academic superiority and/or financial need

Orlando and Mary Houts Scholarship
For industrial engineering students of at least seventh-semester standing with demonstrated academic excellence and with financial need

Industrial Engineering Faculty/Staff and Alumni Scholarship
For industrial engineering juniors and seniors with demonstrated academic superiority

Harold A. Johnson Scholarship
For industrial engineering juniors and seniors with demonstrated academic superiority

Nicholas Kay Scholarship Fund
For industrial engineering students with superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success

Tracy J. Knott Memorial Award
For industrial engineering students who have exhibited exemplary academic achievement and who are graduates of State College Area High School

William and Wendy Korb Scholarship in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
For industrial engineering students with demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0

Life Technologies Honors Scholarship
For all full-time undergraduate students who are majoring or planning to major in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering who are also enrolled in the Schreyer Honors College

Harold and Inge Marcus Undergraduate Scholarships
Merit-based scholarship for outstanding industrial engineering undergraduate students

Metal Casting Industry Scholarships
Available to industrial engineering undergraduate students. Register at the Foundry Education Foundation website and email a one-page resume to Robert Voigt.

Kenneth S. Moffitt Scholarships
For industrial engineering juniors and seniors. Preference is given to students participating or planning to participate in an internship/co-op experience with Ingersoll-Rand Corporation

Fred W. Montanari Scholarship
For industrial engineering juniors and seniors with demonstrated academic superiority

Nelson/McGraw Foundation
For industrial engineering students with superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success

New York-Penn IISE Scholarship
For industrial engineering students entering their junior year with superior academic records and whose personal qualities would be deemed an asset to the industrial engineering profession. First preference is given to students from Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, and Warren counties in Pennsylvania; or the eastern third of Erie County, Pennsylvania; or Allegany or Cattaraugus counties in New York

Neyhart Scholarship in Industrial Engineering
For industrial engineering students who have a proven financial need

William M. and Pamela M. Ramsey Scholarship in Engineering
For full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in industrial engineering and have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success

Allen L. and Sharon L. Soyster Scholarship in Industrial Engineering
For full-time undergraduate students enrolled in industrial engineering who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who have demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to student who graduated from a high school in Centre County, Pennsylvania
