Industrial engineering moves up to seventh in undergraduate program rankings

9/13/2017

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The industrial engineering (IE) undergraduate program at Penn State is ranked seventh in the latest annual U.S. News & World Report “Best Undergraduate Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering Programs” rankings, released on Tuesday.

The 2018 edition shows that the IE program moved up two slots from last year amongst its counterparts at other national universities.

The rankings of the best engineering programs in a specialty are based solely on the results from the spring 2017 peer survey. Schools offering any courses in a specialty are eligible to be ranked in that specialty area. The specialty rankings are not based on whether an engineering program has specific undergraduate-level ABET accreditation in that specialty area.

Read more about Penn State's overall undergraduate rankings and how other programs faired on the U.S. News’ website.
